The classic round goes like this: Tegernsee itself with the Bräustüberl in the old monastery, Rottach-Egern on the southern shore and Gmund right up in the north. Between the individual villages it is only ten minutes by car. If you like, we simply drive that round while you get out wherever it appeals to you, rather than walking the whole way round or waiting for the next bus to arrive.
The Wallberg is our second recommendation. The cable car carries you up to 1,620 metres in a matter of minutes, and from up there the whole lake lies at your feet. An hour is enough for the view and a drink on the terrace. In winter we drive you up for skiing or tobogganing, and your chauffeur waits down at the car park meanwhile.

Lake Tegernsee is the excursion for guests with only half a day to spare. An hour there, a few hours by the lake, an hour back, and the evening belongs to Munich again. No other destination in the region offers this ratio of effort to reward, which is exactly why it is our most driven short excursion of all.
At weekends the second advantage shows itself particularly clearly. The car parks in Rottach-Egern and at the Wallberg are full from ten in the morning, and anyone driving themselves spends half an hour searching. Your chauffeur simply drops you and solves the problem by waiting elsewhere. That sounds banal, but on a Sunday in July at the lake it is precisely the difference.
The Bräustüberl in Tegernsee Abbey is the best known spot on the lake and correspondingly busy. It is worth it nonetheless, precisely because you do not reserve there but simply join a table and fall into conversation. Anyone preferring quiet drives to Gmund or over to the eastern shore, where noticeably less is going on.
For an enquiry we need the date, the pick-up address, the number of guests and the time you intend to spend there. You then receive a fixed price in which the waiting time and the parking fees are already included. Three of you travel in the E-Class or the S-Class, six in the V-Class.
