Salzburg Airport Transfer to Munich

90 minutes via the A8

From Salzburg to Munich, border included

Salzburg Airport lies roughly 145 kilometres east of Munich, right on the edge of the city. Via the A8 that means about 90 minutes, past Lake Chiemsee and across the border at Walserberg. The rail connection is usable, but it demands the trip from the terminal into town, the train itself and finally a taxi.

We drive the whole route in one go. The vignette, the tolls and the border crossing are all included in the fixed price, so none of it is your concern. Your chauffeur waits at the terminal, with a name sign if you wish, and takes you to any address in Munich you name.

Transfer from Salzburg to Munich

Salzburg matters most to Munich in winter. Anyone heading into the Alps or coming out of them often lands here rather than at MUC, simply because the connection is shorter. Then there are the festivals in summer and guests who want to see both cities across a single weekend. In all of those cases the border is the point that raises questions: vignette, tolls, possible checks.

For you none of that is an issue. Our vehicles are equipped for Austria and the costs sit inside the fixed price. Checks at Walserberg do happen occasionally, but they rarely cost more than a few minutes of your time. We track your flight and adjust the pick-up automatically whenever the landing time shifts, without you having to call us.

Our Fleet

From the elegant sedan to the spacious coach — choose the right vehicle for any occasion. Every vehicle is premium-equipped and impeccably maintained.

As a management consultant I fly a great deal, so I ride with them almost every week — and I'm extremely satisfied! The cars are always impeccably kept, usually luxury-class limousines like the Mercedes S-Class or the BMW 7 Series.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the drive from Salzburg to Munich take?
About 90 minutes via the A8, past Lake Chiemsee. In winter and on holiday weekends it can take longer, as the A8 slows between Rosenheim and the border. Your fixed price does not change because of it.
Are the vignette and tolls included?
Yes. Our vehicles are equipped for Austria and every charge sits inside the fixed price. You pay nothing afterwards, not for waiting time and not for luggage either.
Are there border checks between Salzburg and Munich?
Checks happen occasionally at Walserberg. As a rule they cost a few minutes. Keep an identity document to hand, nothing more is needed. We factor that into the journey time in any case.
Do you also drive to Kitzbühel or Zell am See?
Yes. For many guests Salzburg is only the arrival point, with the destination in Tyrol or the Salzburg region. We drive those routes on request at a fixed price including all charges, ski luggage welcome.
Does ski equipment fit in your vehicles?
In the V-Class yes, where skis and boards for up to six people are no problem. In the E-Class and S-Class it becomes tight with more than two sets. Tell us what is coming when you enquire and we will suggest the right vehicle.
What happens if my flight into Salzburg is delayed?
We track the flight by its number and move the pick-up automatically. Your chauffeur waits and you do not need to call. Waiting time caused by a flight delay is never charged.

Salzburg Airport transfer at a fixed price

The Salzburg to Munich route is one of the more pleasant in our programme. The A8 runs along Lake Chiemsee, in clear weather the Alps sit in your rear-view mirror, and there are neither changes nor platforms. For guests visiting the region for the first time, the stay effectively begins during the drive rather than at the hotel reception.

Commercially the route is most in demand in winter. Salzburg is the gateway to Kitzbühel, Zell am See and the Salzkammergut. Anyone with appointments there who then needs to reach Munich saves themselves the combination of coach, train and connection, which in snowfall rarely keeps the promise the timetable made the evening before.

In the other direction we drive you from Munich to Salzburg whenever your flight departs from there. We set the pick-up around your departure and build in a buffer for the A8, which between Rosenheim and Bad Reichenhall can become slow going in winter. None of that changes your fixed price in any way.

For an enquiry we need the flight number, the date, the address and the passenger count. Vignette, tolls and waiting time are included. Up to three passengers travel in the E-Class or the S-Class, up to six with ski luggage in the V-Class, larger groups in the 20-seat Sprinter with a separate luggage bay.
